Andrew Gutauskas is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, music director, and educator based in New York. He's contributed to more than 50 recordings, including Grammy-winning and nominated projects, with work that's appeared on Broadway, in film and television, and on concert stages around the world, moving between jazz, rock, hip-hop, Bollywood, and experimental music.

He is the baritone saxophonist, arranger, and music director for the collective Brass Against, where his arrangement of Rage Against the Machine's "Wake Up" was featured in The Matrix Resurrections. He is also a sought-after collaborator across New York's large-ensemble and chamber scenes, performing with Few of a Kind, Miho Hazama's m_unit, Charlie Rosen's 8-Bit Big Band, the Danny Jonokuchi Big Band, Sirintip's Mycelium, Kyle Saulnier's Awakening Orchestra, Lucas Pino's No Net Nonet, the Uptown Jazz Tentet, the Steven Feifke Big Band, the Terraza Big Band, Manuel Valera's New Cuban Express Big Band, the Dan Pugach Nonet, the Skivvies, and many others.

As a film composer, Andrew has scored several award-winning shorts, including Baby Won't You Please Come Home (2018) and Still Together (2021), both by director Christopher Piazza, and Hermit (2020) by Aimiende Negbenebor Sela, featuring his ambient score "Longing." His music also appears in the feature film Uppercut (2025), scored by Brass Against and starring Ving Rhames.

As a solo artist, Andrew has released two records under his own name - the EP Look Up! (2017) and full-length Look Out! (2020), both on Outside In Music - rooted in jazz composition and improvisation. Awake (A Major Motion Soundtrack), released January 2026, is a departure: an ambient record built from looping and texture, built around the space between distraction and attention.

Andrew has been adjunct faculty at The New School since 2020 and is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with the legendary Joe Temperley.
